Local Libraries

We're lucky to have fantastic local libraries in the borough with a great range of books both for and about children! The website and app are great as they allow you to search for specific titles and for a small charge of 75p you can reserve an item from any of the libraries in Surrey. Many of the titles we have reviewed on our Inspiration and Information page were borrowed from the library.

Surrey Libraries UK has recently shared information about this year's Summer Reading Challenge and it looks great! "The 2021 Summer Reading Challenge will be a celebration of reading, nature and action for the environment. Developed in partnership with WWF, the world's leading independent conservation organisation, Wild World Heroes will inspire children to stand up for the future of our planet." It will launch in libraries on Saturday 10 July 2021.

Ewell Family Centre Community Fridge

The Ewell Family Centre provides a service to support families, therefore their Community Fridge is for the benefit of families with children under the age of 18 years. The community fridge is a way of reducing the amount of good food that is thrown away, passing on surplus food from local shops to the community. The food can vary from non-perishable items to chilled foods and fruit and vegetables.

Surrey Hills Baby Clothes Library

The Surrey Hills Baby Clothes Library loans boxes of baby clothes in sizes ranging from tiny baby to 24months.

They provide a box at a deposit of £20 and this is returned or held until you've finished hiring boxes. They make a suggestion of £3 per box hired but this is just a recommendation (more is always welcome) If people gain items whilst using the service and wish to donate their unwanted items or unused nappies they will always make sure they are passed on and shared with the next people.

Coats, Pram Suits, Shoes, outdoor wear and Grobags can all be hired with an additional deposit.
