Future Trees Project
In partnership with the Epsom and Ewell Tree Advisory Board we are encouraging residents to gather seeds, nuts and fruits this October and grow them into trees. For more information see here.

Health & Wellbeing Fair
23 September 2023, 10am-3pm, at Rosebery Park. Sustainable Epsom & Ewell had a stall at the Health and Wellbeing Fair organised by Age Concern Epsom & Ewell, raising awareness about water use and carbon footprints.

2023 National Events
January - Veganuary
A campaign to inspire and support people to try a vegan diet which has been shown to have a lower environmental impact.
February - Fizz Free February
A campaign which brings together messages around public health and planetary health to encourage us to not consume fizzy drinks for a month by exploring the impact of bottled soft drink overconsumption on the climate, including water use, soil erosion, plastic pollution and local communities.
13-19 March 2023 - National Compost Week
To find out all about how to compost at home there are some great resources on the Surrey Environment Partnership website. There's also a link if you'd like to buy a discounted composter. Composting at home is really easy and is a great way to make your own nutrient-rich, peat-free compost for your plants and garden.
17 March-2 April 2023 - Great British Spring Clean
This Keep Britain Tidy campaign aims to bring communities together across the country, to help clean the litter that blights our beaches, beauty spots and streets.
25 March 2023, 8.30pm - Earth Hour
An hour when you can switch off any non-essential lights for an hour to show you care about the future of our planet and to remind us that even small actions can have a big impact. Who's joining in this year? More details here.
22 April 2023 - Earth Day
Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22 and is an international day of environmental action.
No Mow May, Let it Bloom June, Knee High July
No Mow May is all about letting the wild flowers in your lawn bloom, providing a feast of nectar for our hungry pollinators by not mowing your lawn for May (and June and July if you're really keen and want to rewild all summer!).

National Vegetarian Week is an initiative which encourages us to "Eat veggie, cut carbon, drive change".
5-11 June 2023 - Bike Week
Bike Week is organised by Cycling UK to encourage as many people as possible to get out there and enjoy their community by bike.

15 June 2022 - Clean Air Day
Clean Air Day is the UK's largest air pollution campaign. Led by Global Action Plan, Clean Air Day brings together communities, businesses, schools and the health sector to:

Plastic Free July
Plastic Free July is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution – so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities.
September - Second Hand September
Second Hand September is a 30-day campaign run by Oxfam encouraging people across the UK to stop buying new clothes for the month in a bid to curb our fast fashion habits.
22 September - World Car Free Day
October - Unblocktober
Unblocktober is the world’s first month-long national campaign and awareness month to improve the health of our drains, sewers, watercourses and seas.
27 November-5 December 2023 - National Tree Week
National Tree Week is the UK’s largest annual tree celebration, marking the start of the winter tree planting season (November to March each year).
